The case for agent-readable analytics

Aug 20265 min read

Dashboards are for humans. Agents need answers they can call. The moment you want an AI assistant to explain why conversions dropped, or a support agent to pull a session context, scraping rendered pixels is the wrong interface — slow, brittle, and opaque.

Agent-readable analytics means a stable contract: GET /metrics returns deterministic JSON with named dimensions and a documented schema. No chart rendering, no session state, no HTML to parse. An agent can request a date range, read the numbers, and act on them in one round trip.

This is why Tracabit's metrics API and its event model are designed together. Events carry structured params, metrics aggregate them predictably, and the API surface stays versioned and documented. The MCP server is on the roadmap so agents can discover Tracabit natively.

We think the analytics vendors that survive the agent era are the ones whose data is machine-addressable from day one. The dashboard becomes a convenience; the API becomes the product.
